Myself

I am Karla Joy Nastor Ledesma, 20 years of age, I am presently living with my auntie here at Angeles City, Pampanga. I am originally from Lupao, Nueva Ecija. My mother is Maria Fe Ledesma, an elementary teacher and My dad's name is Benigno Ledesma, a dental aide but now he's in heaven with God. I have an older sister, she is Kirstie Marie Ledesma, she is a graduate of HRM. 

When I was in elementary I studied at Lupao Central School and when I was in high school I studied at Sacred Heart Academy of  Lupao, Inc. At present I am studying at Holy Angel University taking up BSED Major in Values Education. I am now in my 4th year, 1st semester. I am one step away to my dreams and  am so excited. But my plan is I will review first for my LET before applying for a job. 
I now being a teacher is never easy, you need to sacrifice and give you all for your students, for them to really learn.

The Changes in the Students after my Observation

      

            Observing classes for 20 hours is not easy especially when the time is very limited, there are shortened period, examinations and suspension of classes that is why I experienced a hard time in completing my 20 hours observation.
            After 20 hours of my observation, I noticed that the behavior of the students in the first meeting is almost still the same at the end of my observation. I said it is almost because it is somehow changed but a very little changes only. At the first meeting the students  are not interested because as usual CLE subject is boring for everyone, but as time goes by my resource teacher still do what he need to do as a teacher. When I am on my 15 hours of observing, my resource teacher did some strategies wherein he catches the attention of some of his students, the teacher uses trend words to communicate with his students while discussing the lesson and it is somehow effective and because of that some of the students started to listen. But it happened just for one day, after that, the students are back to their old ways, not listening and not interested. That is why is somehow changed. But then, as a future educator I learned a lot from my resource teacher, and I learned that the students to today compare to the old times are very very different, the teacher needs ore strategies for his/her students to be effective.

Teacher as a Model of Moral Character

Aside from teaching our students the subject matter, we should also teach and show them right values. We are considered as their second parents, we are the one who's with them for a long time because they spend more time in school. Our students should learn from us in a cognitive manner and of course in terms of values. 

       My resource teacher models the character of values when they have class mass and I can see that he is  prayerful person, which everyone of us must have. We should always have faith and always pray to God. And this is the kind of values that I will get from Sir Bernard that even trials are drowning us we still have God. We all aware that most of the youth are lacking of prayer life and are lazy to attend to church celebration, service or masses. And this the value of praying is the one that the students or youth must have. 

       Another values of my resource teacher is being positive and learning to accept and move on, in one of his discussion he shared a experiences of darkness in his life and he said to his students to be positive learn to accept and move on. That we should not be stagnant we should continue growing and I can see to the students that they are agreeing to their teacher. 

       My resource teacher is giving words of wisdom after his discussions, he will give advice and life learning messages to his students. He is sharing his experiences and the students will learn from it. Values should be caught and not taught as they said, and a good teacher should be a role model to hi students because what actions can bee seen from the teacher can be imitated from the students.

      I am really learning a lot from my resources teacher, I will adapt a lot of strategies, values and techniques from him. As a future teacher I will use my learning from my resource teacher to help me in my teaching journey.
